believe every angel you see. [download mp3]

to listen to his personal message for you from the spiritual
realm? Doing so could be the deadliest mistake you ever made.

-Who caused the
Tsunami? Part 1 of 3 - Satan did
it. [download mp3] Who caused the Tsunami
on December 26, 2004? In its immediate aftermath, the voices
of many religious leaders from every major world religion trumpeted
the idea that the Tsunami was an act of divine judgment. Was
it really an act of God? Is there any biblical evidence that
the Tsunami could be an act of Satan? Listen in to explore the
question.
2/18/2005 -
Who caused the Tsunami? Part
3 of 3 - Nature did it. [download mp3] What
if neither God nor Satan were the active cause of the tsunami?
Is such a possibility compatible with a biblical world view?
What would be implied about God's goodness in such a case since
He chose not to intervene and stop the tsunami? Listen in to
explore this assertion with us: Every incidence of innocent
suffering can be traced directly or indirectly to the exercise
of someone's freedom of choice.
2/25/2005 -
God
suffers with us
[download mp3] and thereby earns the right
to allow suffering in the context of accomplishing a greater
good. Jesus suffered more than any human ever has or ever will.
Don't believe that assertion? Listen in to hear it explored.
If you're still not convinced, email us with an example of suffering
you feel is greater than what Jesus suffered. We'll give it
some thoughtful critique and respond.

Temptation:
Is it just about me? [download mp3] What
is going on when we're tempted? Is the issue of yielding or
resisting centered only around the one being tempted? Listen
in. You might discover the issues are much, much bigger. We
look at this question in the context of Eve's temptation in
the garden of Eden and Jesus' temptation in the wilderness.
3/11/2005 -
Was
Jesus really tempted? [download mp3]
James the apostle wrote that God cannot be tempted neither does
He tempt anyone. If this is true and Jesus was Divine, how is
it possible that Jesus could have been tempted? But if Jesus
was our perfect example, didn't he have to be tempted in some
way? Join us in the attempt to resolve the dilemma.
3/18/2005 - Are
we guilty before we sin? [download mp3]
Are we guilty of sin from the moment of birth even before we
make a conscious choice to sin? There are some Christian traditions
that teach so. The hinge point is the issue of our human nature.
What does the Bible teach about guilt, sin and personal choice?
Does Adam's sin make me guilty? Listen in as we explore the
issue.
3/25/2005 - Voices
in your head. [download mp3] Those thoughts
you think and the feelings you feel—are they always your
own or do they ever come from something or someone outside you?
Maybe that sounds like a science fiction question but really...
it's not! Tune in to hear what the Bible teaches about Satan's
ability to plant thoughts in your mind, how you can tell when
the voice in your head is not your own and what you can do about
it.
4/1/2005 - Why
the Bible? [download mp3] Is the Bible
worthy of being trusted as the source and reference for absolute
truth? Today we begin a series of WarTalk programs exploring
this and related questions. Listen in to hear the best way to
figure out if the Bible is for you.
Supplementary
material:
Francis
A. Schaeffer was a prominent Christian philosopher of
the 20th century. As a student of philosophy and conscientious
atheist, he decided to read the Bible out of a conviction
that intellectual integrity required personal knowledge
of that which you assert is wrong. He read the Bible through
from beginning to end and came away convinced that it gave
a more rational explanation to the big questions of life
than naturalism or any other system of philosophy. He came
to faith in Christ and became a strong voice in explaining
the matchless superiority of the biblical world view. Schaeffer
has written many
books that are worthy of your time and attention.
4/8/2005 - Naturalism
vs. Theism. [download mp3] Today begins
a journey examining three fundamentally different ways of viewing
the world: Naturalism, Pantheism and Theism. Every system of
thinking fits into one of these broad world views. How do these
three ways of looking at life answer the big questions: 1) Where
do I come from? 2) What is my purpose here? 3) Where am I going?
Listen in to explore the answers with us.
Supplementary
material:
We owe Sue Bohlin of Probe
Ministries a word of credit for the concept of the three
world views mentioned above. Her essay, Answering
the Big Questions of Life, is an excellent argument
in favor of theism (though we differ from her on the understanding
of what the Bible teaches about life after death).
Here is the link for one of the
many news reports on atheist Antony
Flew's change of mind.
Here are the books mentioned in
the broadcast:
4/15/2005 - Pantheism
vs. Theism. [download mp3] Today we continue
our exploration of the three fundamental worldviews—Naturalism,
Pantheism and Theism —by examining Pantheism and comparing
and contrasting it with Theism. How does Pantheism answer the
big questions of life differently than Theism? Listen in to
find out.
4/22/2005 - Naturalism,
Pantheism, Theism—which is “true”?[download
mp3] Naturalism says there is no life after
death. Pantheism says life is a circle—constant reincarnation
after death into either a lower or higher life form based on
one’s karma. Theism says life is linear—a divine
judgment follows death which leads to eternal life or eternal
death but no reincarnation. The three worldviews are mutually
exclusive. Only one can reflect what really happens at death.
Two of these three worldviews are much “riskier”
than the third. Listen in to hear which world view is the “safest
bet”.
4/29/2005 - An
example of Naturalism intruding on Theism—Did Jesus “buy
it?” [download mp3] Naturalism says
there are no miracles. Naturalism says there is no life after
death. Naturalism scoffs at the idea of Jesus (or any other
supernatural being) “coming again.” The historical-critical
method of interpretting the Bible accepts these presuppositions.
Did Jesus? Can we even know what Jesus believed? Listen in to
find out.
Supplementary
material:
Are the three suppositions attributed
above to historical criticism fair to that theological discipline?
Rudolf
Bultmann was a prominent spokesperson of the historical-critical
approach to biblical interpretation as was Eta Linemann,
his former student. Check out Eta Linemann’s personal
story of her
journey as an adherent of historical-criticism, her
spiritual conversion and subsequent rejection of historical
criticism. See also Harold S. Martin’s description

criticism is a threat to authentic biblical faith.

5/6/2005 - How
much of the Bible for you? [download mp3] Jesus,
Peter, Paul and the other apostles all exalted the Scriptures
as the ultimate authority. Which parts of our modern Bible were
they using and referring to? Should those parts which constituted
an authority for them also be authoritative for us today? Listen
in to find out.
5/13/2005 - God
of the Old Testament/New Testament—the same or different?
[download mp3] In the New Testament God
is loving, kind, compassionate and forgiving. In the Old Testament
God is harsh, judgmental and violent, right? Or is He? Is God
really different in the New Testament than He is in the Old
Testament? Listen in to find out.
5/20/2005 -Are
justice and mercy mutually exclusive? [download mp3]
“God is too loving to destroy sinners.”
say some people, “In the end, everyone will be saved in
heaven.” Is such an idea compatible with a biblical worldview?
How can justice and mercy coexist as attributes of God's character?
Listen in to explore the issue biblically with us.
5/27/2005 -
Does violence help preserve peace in the universe? [download
mp3] Do you find it difficult to reconcile
God’s use of violence in the Bible with His character
of love? One option is to say God didn’t really do it—it
was just a cultural dynamic. Such a conclusion risks compromising
the authority and relevance of God’s Word. Listen in for
an alternate perspective and let
us know what you think.
6/3/2005 -
Tradition versus the Bible—which has greater authority?
[download MP3] Some contend that God has
bestowed upon His church so great authority as to transcend
even the Bible. Others contend that in order to discern truth
from error, the Bible must be the final test for all doctrine
and prophecy. Which view is correct? Listen
in to hear arguments on both sides and examine them in the
context of Jesus’ teaching on the issue.
6/10/2005 - CULTURE vs. THE BIBLE, part
1:
Love
your neighbor or yourself. [download MP3] You have to love
yourself first before you can truly love anyone else, right?
That is a very common idea in America today. It is even expressed
extensively among Christians. But is it true to the biblical
worldview? Is that what Jesus meant when he identified the second
most important commandment in the whole world as being, “Love
your neighbor as yourself?” Listen
in. The spiritual ramifications are significant enough that
you don’t want to be mistaken on this one.
6/17/2005 – CULTURE vs. THE BIBLE,
part 2:
Judge not that ye be not judged. [download MP3] What is
right for me is not necessarily right for you. What is wrong
for you is not necessarily wrong for me. This concept is pervasive
in our culture. The idea is that everything is relative and
therefore no one has any basis for evaluating someone else’s
actions, values or attitudes. How does this square up with Scripture?
Listen
in to find out.
6/24/2005 – CULTURE vs. THE BIBLE,
part 3: The
church has no business being involved in the lives of its members
[download MP3]. Or does it? In times past, many churches'
attempts at "discipline" were destructive. Today, many churches
have nothing to do with any kind of discipline. Is there an
appropriate role for the church to be actively involved in spiritual
accountability with its members? Or does all such involvement
constitute inappropriate "judging". You know what our culture
thinks. Tune
in to examine what the Bible teaches.
7/1/2005 – CULTURE vs. THE BIBLE,
part 4: Divorce
[download MP3]. Is it permissible in God’s eyes to
divorce for any and every reason? Would God ever expect someone
to stay in an unhappy marriage? Listen
in to hear Jesus’ teaching about what God views as
acceptable and unacceptable reasons for divorce and remarriage
and why.
7/8/2005 – CULTURE vs. THE BIBLE,
part 5: A
tribute to the world’s most difficult job [download MP3].
This job is simultaneously more important than any other yet
most despised by American culture. It is more important than
being a president, preacher or general. What is it? Listen
in to find out.
7/15/2005 – CULTURE vs. THE BIBLE,
part 6: Men
and Women—does equality mean sameness? [download MP3].
Today we explore the biblical worldview on the roles of men
and women. In what ways are their roles the same? In what ways
are they different? Does God intend men and women to fill the
same roles at home, in society and in the church? Listen
in to explore the issue with us.
7/22/2005 – CULTURE vs. THE BIBLE,
part 7: Homosexuality—Is
it a legitimate alternative lifestyle in God’s eyes? [download
MP3]. What was once taboo in American culture is now commonly
accepted. Sometimes cultural changes are good. Sometimes they
are not. Tune in
to hear what how the biblical world view addresses the issue
of homosexuality in the context of God’s design and plan
for humanity.
7/29/2005 – CULTURE vs. THE BIBLE,
part 8: Parenting
and discipline. [download MP3]. Should children be encouraged
to make their own decisions from their earliest years? Should
children be required to respect their parents? Should parents
give religious instruction to their children? Should children
ever be spanked? Listen
in to explore the issues from a biblical worldview.
8/05/2005 – CULTURE vs. THE BIBLE,
part 9: Is
God male, female, neither or both? [download MP3] It is
becoming more common in America to hear people addressing the
God of the Bible with female references and pronouns. How does
God reveal himself to us in the Bible with regard to gender
and what relevance does that have in modern society? Listen
in to explore the issue with us.
8/12/2005 – CULTURE vs. THE BIBLE,
part 10: Being
a real man [download MP3]. Real men don’t cry. Or
do they? Real men don’t eat quiche. Or do they? Real men
don’t ask directions. Or do they? American culture has
been in the process of redefining manhood and masculinity for
several decades now. How does the product of that revisionism
square up with a biblical worldview on manhood? Listen
in to explore the issue.
Supplementary material:
Check out the book Wild
at Heart. The author, John Eldredge, makes a case for
recognizing how American culture has feminized our concept
of masculinity. Eldredge attempts to restore a biblical
concept of God’s intention for what “being a
man” is really all about.
9/14/2005 – Israel in Prophecy, part
4: Israel's
Mission: [download MP3]. Today we lLook at God’s plan
for Israel to be the light of the world. Is God really waiting
for some future time for Israel to finally fulfill it’s
purpose or is this prophecy already being spiritually fulfilled?
Listen
in to find out.
Just as David's life descriptions seem obviously
intended to be about himself until Jesus reveals their depth
in describing Jesus' own life, so stereograms
on the surface appear to be nothing more than a random collection
of dots. Once your eyes focus beyond the actual image, however,
a 3-dimensional image emerges that is not obvious to the casual
viewer. In the same way, we must be careful in our choice of
how to interpret biblical prophecies, that we not miss what
God intends us to really understand by looking too
casually at the surface.

9/23/2005 – Israel in Prophecy, part
5: The Final
Gathering of Israel [Download Free MP3]. Has it been God’s
prophetic plan for the modern nation of Israel to fulfill the
promises for Israel and the Jewish nation to be recongregated
from their dispersion? Or is God fulfilling those promises in
a different fashion? Listen
in to find out.
9/30/2005 – Israel in Prophecy, part
6: To whom
does Palestine belong? [Download Free MP3] God promised Abraham
the land for his descendants forever. Was this promise conditional
or does it mean that modern Jews are entitled to Palestine by
virtue of the original promise? Listen
in to explore the issue with us.
10/7/2005 – Israel in Prophecy, part
7: – Jesus
and the third day [Download free MP3]. Jesus referred to Scripture
as predicting his resurrection the “third day.” How
did He deduce this and what relevance does it have to the discussion
of Israel in Prophecy? Tune in to find out. This week lays the
scriptural foundation for the shocking conclusion revealed next
week regarding the rebuilding of the temple in Jerusalem.
10/14/2005 – Israel in Prophecy, part
8: , Rebuilding
the Temple [Download free MP3]. Do the promises and prophecies
in the Scripture foretell that the literal temple in Jerusalem
will be literally rebuilt in the last days? Tune in to find out
whether this common belief is accurate and what it may mean for
the world today.

the road… Marriage#1: What
to do when the feelings of love fade [download free MP3].

10/28/2005 – Where the rubber meets
the road… Marriage#2: What
do I do if my spouse is cheating/having an affair/committing adultery
on me? [download free MP3]. Is divorce the first and best
choice? What factors should be considered? How does God’s will

the road… Marriage#3: What
if my spouse wants to co-sign a loan for a friend? [download free
MP3] . Finanacial issues are one of the biggest and most common
stressors in marriages today. Co-signing a loan is a momentous
obligation. What if one spouse wants to co-sign and the other
does not? And what in the world does this issue have to do with
the "war between good and evil"?!?. Listen

11/11/2005 – Where the rubber meets

Resolving Difficult Conflicts [download free MP3]. It is not
uncommon for marital conflicts to seem unsolvable. If left unaddressed,
they fester, get worse and affect almost everything else in the
relationship. Tune it to see what the Bible has to say about resolving
conflict. Also, discover an extremely powerful, 10-step method
for resolving conflicts that can assit in resolving the most difficult
disagreements.
The "10 Steps for Resolving Couple Conflict"
concept was developed by David H. Olson, Ph.D., President of
Life Innovations. It is a core component of the Prepare/Enrich
Pre-marital inventory program that has been used by more than
1.5 million couples. Dr. Olson has graciously granted us permission

11/18/2005 – Where the rubber meets
the road… Marriage#5: Solving
Financial Difficulties [download free MP3]. The majority or
married couples today experience conflict over money. Sometimes
it's because they disagree over how to spend it. Sometimes it's
because there just doesn't seem to be enough of it. Today we examine
a spiritual principle that has the power to solve the worst of
financial difficulties. Listen
in to check it out.
11/25/2005 – Faith.
What is it? [download free MP3]. What can be trusted? Science?
Journalists? Friends? Preachers? The Bible? What is reported as
science is sometimes nothing more than assumption. Journalists
have a powerful ability to spin a certain perspective by the kinds
of questions they ask. Friends can be wrong. Many Christians define
faith as choosing to believe even in the asbence of evidence.
Today we assert that true faith is belief on the basis
of evidence. Listen
in to check it out.
Why is it that some science journalists seem
to delight in not reporting what part of reported "scienctific
facts" are actually based on mere speculation? Fortunately,
there are exceptions.
“Evolutionists have assumed
that the [mitochondrial] clock is constant, ticking of mutations
every 6000 to 12,000 years or so. . . The most widely used mutation
rate for noncoding hyman mtDNA relies on estimates
of the date when humans and chimpanzees shared a common ancestor,
taken to be 5 million years ago. . . Regardless of the cause,
evolutionists are most concerned about the effect of a faster
mutation rate. For example, researchers have calculated that
“mitochondrial Eve”—the woman whose mtDNA
was ancestral to that in all living people—lived 100,000
to 200,000 years ago in Africa. Using
the new clock, she would be a mere 6000 years old. ”

What's all the fuss about Christmas? [download free MP3].
We've heard national debate recently about whether it's appropriate
to say, "Merry Christmas" or whether it should be said, instead,
"Happy Holidays." While this push comes from secular America,
there are also Christians who believe that Christmas should
not be celebrated because it is a pagan holiday. What is all
the fuss about anyway? Was Jesus born on December 25? Are
christmas
trees pagan? Listen

What did Jesus give up? [download free MP3]. At
Christmas time, we often get warm fuzzy feelings about peace
and goodwill on earth, about the baby in the manger and
the idea of God coming to earth. But what did it mean for
Jesus? Did the one who sits on the throne of the universe,
the one who receives adoration from all created beings,
the one who is the ultimate definition of light and peace,
did He give up anything in becoming human? Listen
